InnoDB Performance and Usability Patches

This session is an overview of InnoDB’s internals from the perspective of what can be changed and how it influences InnoDB’s performance and functionality. There are many constants that were set in the olden days and are now irrelevant. For example, how can you change the insert buffer, how does it work, and why is it important? What is innodb_max_dirty_pages_pct about, and how can it help you? How can we get more information about InnoDB internals? How can we see what the InnoDB buffer pool contains? What is InnoDB currently locking? And of course, what is in the new InnoDB plugin’s INFORMATION_SCHEMA.INNODB* tables and how can we understand them?
