InnoDB provides transactions, row-level locking, multi-version concurrency control for superior performance, and referential integrity, XA distributed transactions and all four ANSI SQL transaction isolation levels to ensure the integrity of your database.
This session will be jointly presented by Ken Jacobs, VP Product Strategy for Oracle’s Server Technology Division, and Heikki Tuuri, Vice President of the InnoDB group at Oracle. Heikki is the founder of Innobase Oy, and the architect and chief implementor of InnoDB. Ken and Heikki will describe the InnoDB architecture in depth, and discuss the new powerful performance-enhancing capabilities in InnoDB.
Heikki Tuuri is the creator of the InnoDB transactional storage engine in MySQL. He founded Innobase Oy in 1995 and is the CEO of the company. Prior to founding Innobase Oy, Tuuri worked at the University of Helsinki, from which he also received a Ph.D, degree in mathematical logic in 1990.
Over 26 years at Oracle, in a variety of technical, marketing and managerial roles. Currently responsible for the InnoDB group, which produces the fastest, most reliable and proven transactional storage engine for the open source MySQL database.
