MySQL Cluster as a Directory Server using OpenLDAP

A large number of enterprises and telco operators uses LDAP for identity management. However, one problem is that data either has to reside in the LDAP directory server or in a relational database for performance reasons.

Up to now it has been impossible to offer realtime performance of LDAP requests on a relational backend. Back-ndb (written by Symas Corp) gives MySQL Cluster an LDAP interface to relational data. Thus, it becomes possible to access the data in MySQL Cluster using SQL, NDBAPI, NDB/J, mod-ndb, and LDAP at the same time on the same data.

In this BoF, we will talk about how we have done this and we are very interested in a hearing your feedback.
